THE OWNERS

We are Tom and Patty Cobane from St. Petersburg, FL. Our first time in Haywood County was 9 years ago, and it was love at first sight. We had a vacation home in Maggie Valley until we moved to the beautiful mountains of WNC in 2020 permanently.

Tom is a United States Marine Corps veteran and has been in the retail flooring industry since 1997. Patty has worked for a subcontracting firm for over 20 years and recently resigned to take on our new venture. A family of 6, we have 3 adult sons and a beautiful 10 year old daughter. We are active in our Christian faith and our church. We are animal people and have dogs, cats, a horse, and our newest addition, a goat, which makes the The Carpet Barn of Waynesville a perfect fit for us and our family. One of our sons works with us, making it a true family business.

THE CARPET BARN

The Carpet Barn was established in August of 2001 with 7,000 square feet of space. Over time, we expanded to over 30,000 square feet of warehouse space. We offer custom orders from the nation’s leading carpet mills. Our sales team is friendly, knowledgeable, and there for you after the sale. Repeat customers and word of mouth referrals tell us we are doing flooring correctly. Customers have traveled from South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee to purchase flooring and take it home to have installed.
